Neighborhood
Kips Bay is a neighborhood that is diverse, quirky, convenient and friendly.
Located on the eastern part of Manhattan, one block off the East River in the east 30s, Kips Bay provides easy access to JFK and La Guardia Airports due to its close proximity to the Queens-Midtown Tunnel.
Brooklyn, Queens, Wall Street and the Bronx are now a short and picturesque ferry ride away from the E. 34th Ferry Stop on the NYC Ferry line. Other ferry lines take you via boat to the beaches of Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and Sandy Hook.
Several Citibike stands surround the Kips Bay Condominium Complex on all sides, providing commuters a convenient mode of transportation. The 6 Train line and several MTA Bus lines also service the area and provide access to both Penn Station and Grand Central Station.
Residents are within a couple of blocks of supermarkets and retail stores such as the always popular Fairway, Trader Joes, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, CVS, Sherwin-Williams, and a 24-Hour hardware store.
There are an abundance of restaurants and pubs in the neighborhood ranging from Mexican and Chinese to Thai and Italian. A section of Lexington Avenue nearby is known for its Indian restaurants, giving it the nickname "Curry Hill."
Several popular ice cream shops have become destinations for ice cream lovers, including the Instagram worthy Surreal Creamery, Van Leeuwen's, and Tipsy Scoop.
Kips Bay is an ideal place for New Yorkers that enjoy the outdoors through its easy access to the East River Park and riverfront bike path. Along the river, the park offers a tennis complex, running tracks, and basketball courts along with several baseball, softball, soccer and football fields. Capping it all off are the dramatic views of New York's iconic bridges and waterfront skylines!
